Firing Range
The firing range is the range in which the glaze was tested under our firing conditions at the time of development. Experience has shown, that a glaze can also be fired higher in many cases. However, this has the consequence that other firing resultes will be obtained than shown in our images!
Due to a higher firing temperature, glazes tend to run more strongly, which can also change the effect. This can e.g. express themselves in such a way that in the case of speckled glazes the fine speckles can no longer be recognized as such - the result is usually a finer-grained effect. In contrast to our sample pictures, a much darker shade will be achieved.
If in doubt, we advise you to test the glaze under your firing conditions. This also applies to the use of our glazes at the limits of the specified firing range, the actual temperature in each kiln (and also within the same kiln) is always different.
